Here are a number of reasons why people who believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ,choose biblical counseling over other types of counseling.

All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in rightousness ( 2 Tim 3:16-17), so a man of God may be adequately equipped for every good work.            

Christ is the Wonderful Counselor, ( Is 9:6b). Therefore, it is essential that counselors depend on Christ to equip them for the task of counseling and discipleship.

All scripture is God breathed ( 2Tim 16:17 ), this makes Scripture superior to any other form of knowledge.

Scripture is absolute truth, psychology ( study of the soul ) is looked upon as a "science ", it is shaped upon evidence, that is un proven, yet has been broadly accepted as true and credible within academia, healthcare, culture, and the body of Christ.

Modern day theories of human behavior, psychological dysfunction, and relational difficulties are seen from the perspective of man, rather than the perspective of God.

Psychology/humanism is man centered,not God centered, Psychology focuses on external causes of difficulties. Scriptures focuses on internal factors, such as heart issues, walking in the flesh vs walking in the spirit, and sin.

People are led to the true healer and therefore to eternal life through biblical counseling. 

The scriptures are the only authoritative quide for man's thinking and behavior, they provide the needed precepts and quidance for understanding our mental processes. They are also a quide in analyzing our emotional responses, and exercising control over our thinking and behavior.

Due to the above truths ( and many more ), I try to implement the scriptures into every counseling situation. If we define the problem within a "biblical context", then we are also led to find a "biblical solution".

Life transformation only comes from healing based on the  truths found in God's word.
